When I try to configure a timeline in Visio 2000, there is supposed to be a
dialog box that opens giving the user the option of changing the start and
end dates, the increments, etc. This has always worked in the past, but not
now. If I right click and select the "Configure Timeline" option from the
shortcut menu, it doesn't open the box for me. I believe it's related to my
profile somehow because when other people log in and open the program it
works fine for them. Any ideas?

Two things to check:

Under Tools > Options > Advanced make sure that Enable Automation Events is
checked. If not, check it and reload your file.

Create a new drawing by starting from the Timeline template. Then open your
drawing, select all and paste into the new drawing.
