Hi

I am running Visio 2007, I can create and view any kind of diagram except
data model diagrams. When I create or try open an existing diagram of this
type Visio just hangs indefinately.

I get this in the event viewer:

Hanging application VISIO.EXE, version 12.0.4518.1014, hang module hungapp,
version 0.0.0.0, hang address 0x00000000.

I am running Windows XP 64-Bit Edition.

Any help would be appreciated.

If you are referring to database model diagrams on Win XP x64, that is a
known problem.

I am having the same problem. Is there a way to work around this problem?

There is a work around, although it's a bit odd. Try this:
1) Create a new blank drawing
2) From the menu, select File | Print
3) Cancel from the Print dialog
4) Create new Database Model diagram (Or open an existing one)

Unfortunately, you have to do this every time you start Visio, or you will
see the problem when Visio tries to load the DB modeling add-in.

FYI - this occurs on x64 versions of Windows XP and Windows 2003 Server,
but should not be a problem in Vista x64 - as there appears to be a fix for
it there.
