I have a VISIO 2003 file that is misbehaving. When I open it all I get is
the background. The preview in Windows Explorer is good, the file size is
good but there is nothing in the file when opened. If I open the file and
save under a different file name the file size drops by half. If I SELECT
ALL and copy to a new file all I get is the background. There are NO layers
on this file, so it can't be that I have hidden the stuff on a layer that I
have turned invisible.

Help!

Hi

Preview in Windows Explorer is just an out-dated thumbnail I guess.
Probably, data was realy lost some way.

I didn't see the orignal posting but ...
try the following
menu View -> Drawing Explorer Window
in the Foreground Pages section you will see each page referenced.
Each page will have a list of all the shapes on that page. If there
are any shapes on the page then they will be listed here. It could be
that they have all been moved off of the viewing area or have been
resized to something very small.
