Network AutoDiscovery was part of Visio 2000 Enterprise, then Microsoft decided to "retire" the feature

It was dropped early in 2002, just after MS purchased Visio. You need a copy
of Visio 2002 with the VENT addon (costed almost as much as the visio
product). The alternative is to checkout the LanSurveyor product as a start
(runs in both the v2003 and v2007)

Take a look at the codima automap tool that makes lot of good stuff with
visio about discovery.
