Protected controls in Visio 2003

Hello,

I recently had Visio 2003 installed on my machine. As I'm attempting to put
together diagrams, I'm finding all the UML controls have defaulted to be
protected. If I want to add text to a process flow, I have to unprotect it.
If I want to add text to an Event box control, I have to unprotect it. Is
there a global setting that can be modified, or some setting in Visio that
will default all controls to being unprotected? Thanks.

The UML feature expects that objects are configured through the property
dialogs and not in the shapes directly. There is no global way to change
protections.
