When I start Visio 2007, it insists on opening some files that I am sure I
have deleted from my PC.
I wouldn't mind so much except one of the files has an enormous DXF file
embedded in it and it takes Visio ~60 seconds to open the file.
The 2 files are called Drawing1.vsd and Drawing2.vsd
I've tried searching and purging them from Windows to no avail. Visio
somehow finds some remnant of them and tries to reclaim them.

I even tried searching the registry with no success.

Anyone have an idea?

For anyone else who encounters this problem, I found a solution..

I ran CCleaner.exe (from CCleaner.com) in the normal mode and accepted the
default recommendations.
By cleaning up Windows this way, I was able to stop the phantom file from
loading when I started Visio. Obviously there was some kind of file cache
that I don't know how to find that was hanging around in spite of my best
attempts to wipe it off the face of the earth.
