Using IE 6.0, I am trying hyperlink a web page icon to another page within a
Visio file saved as a web page. Every time I click on the file I get an IE
error stating that it cannot open the file and the operation is aborted.
When I save the file as a web page,

When I try to use Visio Viewer, I get a Visio Viewer warning, click OK and
it does nothing.

What am I doing wrong?

This is caused by the IE changes in Windows XP SP2, and is related to IE
security settings. You can see the list of behaviorial changes for
applications due to WinXP SP2 in article 886264 /
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=KB;EN-US;886264.

When the Visio Viewer makes a call to open a file (using the File
protocol), this dialog is triggered automatically. You should not see the
same result when the link references an HTML page or other HTTP protocol
reference. There is no way, short of turning off the security in WinXP
SP2, to avoid this dialog in these circumstances. We would suggest that
the security model be left in place for your protection, as a best practice.
